Alexis Bumbar

Alexis has worked with FVEP since September of 2001. When she first joined the team, Alexis worked part time in the office and part time as a Vet Tech. In 2007, she became a full time Office Assistant and is one of the voices you will hear when calling our office. She is the resident expert on scheduling and coordinating appointments, entering records, and keeping track of various ‘horse authority’ rules, regulations, and requirements. Alexis has owned horses, primarily hunters, since 1983. She was the Assistant Coach for the Northern Illinois University Equestrian Team for 5 years, and was named the 2011 Horse Person of the Year by the Northern Illinois Hunter Jumper Association. She’s been a member of NIHJA’s Board of Directors for many years.

When she’s not working at FVEP, she’s working with student riders and coaching them at horse shows. Alexis places a high priority on teaching student riders to put the best interests of their horse first. She currently owns 4 dogs and participates in dog agility training and competitions. Alexis is a devoted “auntie” of four nieces, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
